Richard J. Marshall
Managing Director

Rick has over 20 years of experience working with technology companies at all stages of development. Prior to founding Intelligent Capital, he served as a Principal in Technology Investment Banking with Needham & Co., working from the company's Sand Hill Road offices from 1993 through 1998. During this time, he led some of Needham's highest profile financing & merger transactions in the software, semiconductor, communications, and design automation industries.

Earlier, Rick served as a later stage equity investor and venture capitalist at Berkeley International Capital, and has also worked in the International Mergers & Acquisitions Department at Sanwa Bank in Tokyo and as an equity analyst at Data Resources, Inc.

Currently, Rick serves as Program Director of the MIT Club of Northern California Growing Companies Entrepreneurship Program, which sponsors a range of events aimed at helping current and future technology entrepreneurs to launch and build companies.

He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), has a BS in Computer Science from Syracuse University, and an MS in Management from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. Rick grew up in Boston where he enjoyed sailing on the Charles River and off of Cape Cod, and more recently skiing, hiking, and biking in Northern California.

 

Christopher E. Augur
Managing Director

Prior to co-founding Intelligent Capital, Chris served as President of SpeedFam Corporation, a multi-national manufacturer of semiconductor capital equipment. Under his leadership, the firm realized revenue growth from $30 million to $200 million, a successful Nasdaq IPO in 1995, and raised over $300 million for the company. Also, Chris was President of Isola Laminate Systems Corporation, the nations' largest manufacturer of PCB substrate materials, where he led a turnaround and sale of the company.  

Chris has been a Special Limited Partner in Osprey Ventures, LP in Menlo Park, California and is serving or has served on the boards of SpeedFam Corporation, Isola, Fujimi Corporation, and several private companies. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Dean's Advisory Council at Arizona State University's Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering, and is a co-founder of the Arizona Angels, a group of 100 accredited angel investors who meet regularly and finance early-stage companies.

Chris began his career as an engineer with Motorola's semiconductor products division. He graduated from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business Executive Management Program and holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BS in Computer Systems Engineering from Arizona State University. Originally from New York, he enjoys fly fishing, waterskiing, travel, family, and an occasional cigar with friends.

 

Scott J. Globus
Vice President

Scott has a diverse background in business, media, and technology, and leads Intelligent Capital's media and communications activities. Prior to joining the firm, Scott founded and managed Casting.com, an Internet-based media company providing casting and production services to a range of high-profile clients including AMD, Apple, Bank of America, Disney, GS&P, Lucas Films, MSN, Sony, Sprint, the Wall Street Journal, and Yahoo!. Before that, he served as a media consultant to a range of Silicon Valley technology companies.

Scott currently serves as Program Director of the MIT Club of Northern California Leadership Program, which hosts a series of events exploring the challenges and methodology of corporate leadership. Its goal is helping attendees develop insightful leadership skills. He also serves on the boards of directors of two non-profit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Scott received a BS in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He grew up in Trenton, NJ, and enjoys documentary photography, film, biking, and philosophy and lives in San Francisco with his family.



Yuki Sekiguchi
Vice President

Yuki has an extensive background in management and strategy consulting, enterprise software deployment, and intercultural communications. Prior to joining Intelligent Capital, Yuki worked as Senior Consultant with IBM Business Consulting Services and PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting in both the US and Japan, serving clients including American Airlines, ExxonMobil, General Motors, Honeywell, Japan Airlines, Kansai Electric Power Co., and United Airlines. During this time, she focused on the alignment of business process and technology on a range of strategic issues including customer relationship management, supply chain management, and e-commerce.

As an experienced management consultant, Yuki regularly addressed a broad range of strategy development and execution challenges and overcame complex cultural and geographic issues during her work with these clients. She utilizes this experience to help our clients deal with international issues involving Japan, Asia, and elsewhere in the world. She is managing Intelligent Capital's enterprise software and Japanese business initiatives.

Yuki holds a BA in Economics from University of Tokyo. She grew up in Tokyo and enjoys activities ranging from cooking and film to backpacking around the world and currently resides in San Francisco.
